When our office fell down on 22 February 2011, my colleagues and I, like many people who worked in the Christchurch CBD, were forced into working from home. It was an ad-hoc situation that was intended to be a temporary measure until we could return to the CBD and assess the damage. Initially, because we were all helping out friends and neighbours by sharing our bathrooms, our kitchens and our internet connections, work was fitted in around these demands.
